Black History Month dinner

Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Freedom Rides led by the late Dr. James Farmer, Jr. Our special guest for the evening is the 2011 Living Legacy Award recipient, U. S. Congressman Bob Filner. Congressman Filner was one of 4 white students who protested with James Farmer on the Freedom Rides and was arrested and jailed for 2 months for "inciting riots." Congressman Filner will share with us his views on that day in history and offer us his insight of the battles ahead.

Featured performances by the Richmond Boys Choir and the Gye Nyame Drummers & Dancers.

An elegant buffet will compliment this Black Tie event (tuxedos are optional).
